About the Journal

Politikon, a multilingual scholarly journal for researchers of political phenomena, was launched by members of the Vojvodina Political-Science Association (VPA), a professional organization of political scientists who live and work in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (APV). The first issue appeared in 2012. Since then, Politikon has been published three times a year in printed form. At the beginning of 2025, we launched an online version using the OJS platform (Open Journal System for scientific journals). Supported by scholars from all over the ex-Yugoslav area, and even beyond, we want to encourage discussion and debate s well as to open up space for the collaborative study of political phenomena, formerly rather neglected in our province. We set our broader goals in the Program Statement of the Vojvodina Political-Science Association (the Internet presentation of the VPA is currently under reconstruction), and we will try to persevere on them, so that the kind of democratic forum, which we started in 2010, could meet expectations—even if with modest results—of people who care about promoting political-science and policy research in these areas. Politikon is one of our most important activities, hence we want and will try to make it as open as possible to all potential collaborators, to all those people who are interested in the phenomena of politics, but also related, primarily social and humanistic sciences and disciplines, who have something to say, to present their position rationally, regardless of where they come from. We do not restrict this journal to the narrow confines of Vojvodina, we want it to have contributions from other parts of Serbia, as well as from the entire area of the former Yugoslavia, but also much, much wider. We want an exchange of quality ideas and authors, as well as any kind of help, suggestions, and criticism. Follow our work, collaborate, criticize. The Board of Editors of Politikon is open to all mutually fruitful cooperation.
